Dickie & Moore Limited were employed by Wholesale Domestic to complete the refurbishment, extension and fit out of a new bathroom and tile showroom on Hillington Road, Glasgow.

The works were carried out over 2 phases to maintain trading within the existing showroom. At all times during the project, the client was able to maintain trade. The works included installation of new M&E and fire systems, with new small power and lighting installed throughout. A new data network was installed, as was a new CCTV and intruder system, with a new MVHR ventilation system installed over the entire sales floor.

High level fans were also installed to bring hot air back down to the trading floor. The existing Combat gas fired heaters were relocated, new duct work installed to distribute hot air and gas pipework feeding the units had to be relocated / renewed to ensure compliance with current regulations. The existing steel roof trusses and asbestos cement roof sheets were sprayed to provide a clean white finish throughout the entire sales floor. Separating wall infills were formed to achieve the appropriate fire rating. New wall linings were erected in conjunction with new display bay partitioning, ready to take the clients product range. Client supplied equipment included floor and wall tiling, click laminate flooring systems, wet wall boards, sanitary ware, brass ware, radiators and towel rails, vanity units, wall cabinets, general bathroom fixtures and fittings and mirrors. Point of sale trade counter and sales desks were supplied and installed by the client. Carpet tiles were used to provide the floor finish for the pedestrian walking routes. New plant rooms were formed to house the Combat heating units aswell as a new comms room for the CCTV, security and data systems. New doors / fire rated doors were installed where required.

Externally, a new car park was formed and white lined, new structural supports and aluminium cladding was installed to the existing masonry / render walls to create a modernised façade, new illuminated signage was installed alongside new exterior lighting and security systems. The project achieved PC in line with contract agreement allowing the client to open their doors for their annual Boxing Day sale.
