Dickie & Moore were the main sponsors supporting an exciting project in partnership with the Co-operative to deliver The Beacon Centre in South Shields, Newcastle.
The building is a pupil referral unit supporting children and families who are unable to access mainstream education. The project was a community initiative supported by all key contractors and suppliers currently involved within the Co-op Framework. The aim of the project was to convert an existing classroom into a scaled down version of a Co-Op food store. Upon completion the Co-Op store will encourage and develop the understanding of money management, good shopping practices, and security for example. The works included Partition removal, Shopfront installation, floor tiling, Small electrical works, Timber frieze, Frieze and signage,
External signage, Kiosk and tills including assisted service tills, New cases,New shelving, CCTV and music system, Small furniture and Bunzl supply using all the key suppliers for a standard Co-op fit out.
The project was managed by Dickie & Moore from inception through to completion which included training, key handover and O+M manual supply.
