The business is looking to bring in aspiring Trainee Site Managers who have recently graduated from a BSc / MSc in Construction Management (or equivalent) who are looking to take their first steps in the industry. The role will entail a focus on construction delivery however you will have the opportunity to be a part of other departments within the business to enhance your skillset.
Duties to include but not limited to:- Project Coordination: Assist in planning, scheduling, and executing construction projects to ensure they are completed within budget, scope, and timeline.
- Site Management: Collaborate with site supervisors and contractors to monitor construction progress, quality, and safety standards. Address any issues that may arise during the construction process.
- Contract Management: Participate in reviewing and negotiating contracts with suppliers, subcontractors, and vendors. Ensure that all parties adhere to contractual agreements.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate project documentation, including project plans, progress reports, change orders, and permits.
- Risk Assessment: Identify potential risks and develop mitigation strategies to minimize disruptions and delays during construction.
- Communication: Foster effective communication among project stakeholders, including clients, design teams, and contractors, to ensure clear understanding of project objectives and status updates.
- Quality Assurance: Ensure construction activities meet quality standards and comply with building codes and regulations.
- Development: Continuously learn and develop construction management skills through on-the-job training and participation in professional development opportunities.
- Health and Safety: Promote a culture of safety by adhering to established safety protocols and promoting safe working practices among the project team.
The ideal candidate will have: – BSc / MSc in Construction Management (or equivalent).
- A passion for the construction industry & the built environment and looking to forge a career within construction.
- Great listening and communication skills and is able to take on board information to aid development.
- The ability to demonstrate good ethics such as honesty, integrity, and commitment.
