Group Financial Controller

Dickie & Moore is seeking an experienced and driven Group Financial Controller to join our senior leadership team.

 

This is a key strategic role offering the opportunity to take full ownership of financial governance across a growing construction group, shaping financial processes, enhancing reporting, and providing critical insight to support business growth and decision-making at the highest level.

 


 

The Group Financial Controller will take full ownership of financial governance, statutory reporting, and internal control frameworks across all Group entities.

This is a senior leadership role focused on ensuring the integrity and accuracy of financial reporting, driving process improvement and automation, and delivering high-quality financial insights to support strategic decision-making across the business.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage all day-to-day accounting operations across the Group
  • Oversee the preparation of accurate and timely monthly management accounts and annual financial statements
  • Present financial results and insights to the Board and Executive Management Team
  • Lead the annual budgeting and forecasting processes
  • Develop, implement, and maintain robust financial controls and procedures across all Group companies
  • Act as the primary point of contact for external auditors and manage the statutory audit process
  • Manage cash flow forecasting and optimise working capital performance
  • Mentor, develop, and lead the finance team to drive high performance
  • Produce insightful financial reports, identifying trends, risks, and opportunities to support strategic planning and decision-making
  • Drive continuous improvement, including the use of technology and automation to enhance financial processes and reporting

Skills & Experience

  • Fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, or equivalent)
  • Proven experience within the construction sector or a related industry
  • Strong analytical, numerical, and problem-solving abilities
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively under pressure and meet tight deadlines
  • Advanced systems and data analytics skills, with a track record of improving financial reporting through technology
  • Experience developing or enhancing finance systems to deliver meaningful, real-time management information
  • Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to engage at Board level
